Stoney Creek Publishing Group was founded by award-winning journalist and author Loren C. Steffy to publish compelling stories that too often are overlooked by larger publishers. Our award-winning team of editors, designers and marketers are committed to producing high-quality books in less time and with fewer hurdles than traditional publishing and helping those books find an audience.
We publish a variety of genres, including historical fiction, biography, business, science fiction and romance. We specialize in Texas stories, written by Texas authors, for Texas readers.
Stoney Creek Publishing is a member of the Texas Book Consortium, which distributes our publications online and to bookstores across the country and around the world.
Our Hill Country Press imprint focuses on historical fiction distributed exclusively to online retailers.
AWARDS
Since its inception in 2020, Stoney Creek Publishing has been a Silver Award winner two years in a row in the Independent Book Publishers Association's Ben Franklin Awards — for The Last Trial of T. Boone Pickens (best new nonfiction), and The Big Empty (best new fiction). We have won three Communicators awards for our podcasts discussing real-world themes in The Big Empty and for a retrospective on the Enron trial. Christena Stephens’ Bound in Silence: An Unsolved Murder in a Small Texas Town won first place in the BookFest Awards’ true crime category for 2025.
